Product Fundamentals
  • The Audio Technica AT-VM760xSL represents the top of Audio-Technicas VMx stereo cartridge range offering an ultra-refined listening experience for vinyl enthusiasts who want the finest groove tracking and stereo imaging. Its special line contact stylus is designed to sit deeper and more accurately in the record groove capturing more information and delivering greater high-frequency extension with less inner groove distortion. If accuracy and detail retrieval are your top priorities the 760xSL is the clear step up. Compared to the AT-VM750xSH which uses a nude Shibata stylus the 760xSL places even more emphasis on precision and transparency. Both cartridges feature the same boron cantilever and die-cast aluminium body ensuring fast signal transmission and low resonance. However the line contact profile on the 760 is more complex and refined making it better suited for high-resolution records and extended critical listening. It delivers a tighter more analytical soundstage whereas the 750xSH leans slightly warmer and more musical in character.
