- Classic design All instruments in the Bach Stradivarius series are handmade in America ensuring the highest standard of engineering. The highly skilled craftspeople are still using the original designs that were used in the 1920s. The Bach LT16M is preferred by jazz trombonist Bill Watrous so its versatile to meet the needs of different musical styles. Its open gooseneck style gives it an open playing feel thats ideal for jazz playing when youll want to bend the notes and add lots of expression. Enjoy great control and projection. The Bach LT16M features a .509" bore which provides a balanced response and the nickel silver handslide design gives you great control over your sound. The 7 1/2" one-piece hand-hammered yellow brass bell has defined the orchestral trombone sound for generations and will project the sound to the back of any sized concert hall. Premium materials Bach only uses the highest quality materials to construct their Stradivarius instruments. The yellow brass found in the bell and outer slide provides a nice balance between the various playing parameters which makes it the most widely used and commonly played alloy in the world. The LT16M has a nickel silver inner and outer slide which provides a bright and powerful sound to the performer. Nickel silver is used for many premium trombone slides because its firmer and has greater corrosion resistance compared to standard brass. Once the LT16M has been constructed a layer of clear lacquer is applied to make sure the instrument stays looking newer for longer and adds warmth to the trombones sound. The Stradivarius series The Stradivarius series of instruments are the premium symphonic models originally designed and manufactured by Vincent Bach in the early 1920s. All of the models in the Stradivarius range are made using the highest quality materials to ensure only the best possible instruments are produced. The name "Stradivarius" originates from the first trumpets made by Vincent Bach himself. Musicians would refer to his original trumpets as having a "Stradivarius" sound which later inspired the name Stradivarius. About Bach Bach have been making instruments since 1924 and are viewed as one of the best trumpet manufacturers in the world. Musicians frequently referred to Bach trumpets as having a real "Stradivarius" sound referring to the world-famous string instruments. In 1928 Bach decided to use their expertise to start manufacturing trombones and have since grown to gain a reputation similar to their trumpets.
