- Premium Materials Much like most of the trombones from Conn the 8HT is constructed using rose brass. Unlike any of the trombones though the 8HT has been precisely engineered to have a thin wall rose brass bell. This thin wall allows for a much darker sound than yellow brass can achieve whilst also having a fast response time. Another advantage of the thin wall rose brass bell is that the instrument is lighter than the standard 8H making it perfect long recording sessions or solos. The 8HT has a chrome plated nickel silver inner slide which provides a bright and powerful sound to the performer. Nickel silver is used for many premium trombone slides because its firmer and has greater corrosion resistance compared to standard brass. Once the 8H has been constructed a layer of clear lacquer is applied to make sure the instrument stays looking newer for longer High-End Design The Conn 8HT features a large .547" bore which is typical of most premium symphonic trombones. This size makes the 8HT very easy to blow as there is very little resistance allowing a large and symphonic sound to be easily produced. The large 8-1/2" bell is perfect for projecting this rich sound with plenty of resonance to the back of even the biggest concert halls. The Conn 8HT comes with a professional hardwood shell case and Conn 5G mouthpiece both specifically made for this instrument.
