- s Blue Steel strings are cryogenically frozen to an extremely low temperature. The result is a particularly balanced sounding string with a long lifespan. With this 2036 Medium Light set you enjoy a full, sparkling guitar sound with plenty of volume without compromising the playability of your instrument.During the freezing process to -195º Celsius, the molecules in the string are tightened and microscopic holes narrow considerably. Thus, the string is better protected against infiltration of harmful substances than a normal guitar string. A very nice bonus is the removal of transient frequencies that would mar your sound with shrill high tone and soggy bass.
