- Dogal Originally a family company Dogal has its origins in the Brocco family in Venice. They owned a chain of music shops and were agents for prestigious companies such as Bechstein and Steinway. After the second world war they decided to enter the business of string making after noticing a lack of strings in the market. Their strings used traditional gut as a point of reference and used steel to produce a brilliant and powerful tone without any metallic overtones. Over the whole time the company has been in business most of the production process has been done by hand.
