With all Rata Tom variants, the depth determines the pitch and sound of the shell, and not the diameter as with usual toms! In combination with the other DW Rata Toms, you can use these to play melodic percussion. Think of drummers like Simon Philips

Otherwise, it features high-quality DW kettle hardware, such as True-Pitch tension screws and tension edges and Design Series Mini Turret tension blocks.
