- with even highs and mids and a warm low end. DW hardware DW Performance Drums are custom-inspired with double threaded centre lugs new badge logo head and a hand-sprayed specialty lacquer finish. Theyre designed to get noticed for all the right reasons. Easy to tune superior sounding HVX shells combined with DW heads by Remo USA all-new MAG throw-off and DW 45 degree back-cut bearing edges make the Performance Series ideal for touring professionals. 3mm Chrome Standard Triple Flange Hoops give these drums a really versatile sound that suits all types of players from jazz and funk to rock and hip hop. However the inclusion of DWs sought-after True Pitch tuning rods took the Performance Series Snares range through the roof. The rods feature 5mm threads rather than the 12/24 thats standard on most other drums. To compare there is 1 thread every 0.8mm on their True Pitch rods (about 20 more threads) versus 1 thread every 1.05mm on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process. MAG throw-off The all new MAG has a purposefully simple design with a chrome finish. The MAG throw-off features a horizontal tension adjustment and a smooth easy-adjust action. A clever magnet is integrated into the body of the throw-off which prevents the throw-off from releasing if you accidentally knock it. When the throw-off is released it throws the strainer completely off the head to avoid any strainer buzz. Remo heads DW Performance Series drums come standard with a set of heads made specially for DW by Remo USA. Snare drums come with our Coated Control Sound batter heads (with tuning sequence numbering) and Clear snare side resonant heads.
