Product Fundamentals
- A bow is an indispensable component for every violinist. The ELS BV-10 offers excellent value for money. It is made of brazil wood, also known as pernambuk, which makes it a good choice for beginning and lightly advanced violinists. The slipper, the part where the stick is held, is made of ebony: a very hard wood that can be worked well and is therefore often used in musical instruments. On the slipper there is an ankle eye (also called Paris eye), which serves as decoration. The bow is wrapped with imitation baleen, which makes the bow lighter than a metal wrap and therefore easier to play for beginning violinists. For optimal friction between the violin strings and the bow, regular waxing of the bow is recommended. This ELS BV-10 is suitable for 1/2-size violins.
