Easy and safe Safe to build all of our DIY kits include solderless wiring. This eliminates the need for a soldering iron as all wires can be clipped into place. The headstock even features a classic pre-cut design eliminating the need for cutting and sanding tools. Whether you want to swap out tone and volume controls insert a new pickup or change the bridge. Built to last All of the sustainable wood included has been handpicked to avoid complications such as knots and imperfections. This ensures each body has been constructed from planks of wood with similar grain and colour so your finish should you choose to add one will look consistent and give you confidence that your instrument will last a lifetime. The temperature and humidity treated body and neck wood comes completely shaped and fine sanded smooth but not lacquered. Exceptional sustainable tonewoods The Guitarworks DIY Bass Guitar Kit includes a paulownia body. Absorbing ten times more CO2 than other woods this lightweight sustainable tonewood is ideal for those who prefer to play bass stood for extended periods of time minimising the risk of fatigue and discomfort. Despite being light paulownia also offers great resonance and sustain. The body also comes pre-routed and has been prepped to ensure wiring up the pickups selector switch and pots feels effortless. Thanks to its maple neck the Bass Guitar is built to last offering a smooth playing experience so you can progress up and down the fretboard with ease. This can easily be attached to the body via its bolt-on design. Keen to avoid any wood going to waste the fretboard is composed of thermally treated maple laminate. Produced using the same quality maple found on many high-end basses the neck is composed of thin strips of maple which is then laminated to construct a neck with more strength and resistance than standard maple.
