Exceptional tonewoods The Vintage-Cutaway DIY Electric Guitar Kit includes a mahogany body. Extensively used by many leading brands since the early 50s mahogany provides a full bodied sound with generous sustain making it ideal for riffing and soloing alike. The warm maple neck can easily be attached to the body via its bolt-on design. The neck also comes with an unfinished headstock so you can mark up and cut it to any design you would like be it something completely original or a tribute to an iconic instrument. All of the wood included has been handpicked to avoid complications such as knots and imperfections. This ensures each guitar body has been constructed from planks of wood with similar grain and colour so your finish should you choose to add one will look consistent and give you confidence that your instrument will last a lifetime. The temperature and humidity treated body and neck wood comes completely shaped and fine sanded smooth but not lacquered.
