- High-quality build Designed with the player in mind LA select guitars prioritise high-quality craftsmanship and excellent ergonomics. Whether it be the contoured body the growling Wilkinson designed pickups or the slim profile neck these guitars provide player-friendly refinements at every opportunity. The blackout LA select is built upon a basswood body. Used throughout the guitar industry due to its lightweight and dampening qualities basswood is a rich tone wood which has the added benefit of being environmentally friendly. The all-black finish adorns the entire guitar from the double cutaway body shape all the way through to the neck on the fretboard and up to the headstock. The smooth maple neck has been tailored to a slim and comfortable C shape and topped with a thermally treated poplar laminate fretboard an environmentally friendly option made using laminations of wood which are bonded together in resin making the neck more stable. The stability of poplar laminate helps with tuning - particularly in situations with quick changes in temperature or humidity. Offering a 16" fretboard radius the blackout LA is ideal for super-fast shredding and extreme bends. All-black hardware To top off its menacing looks the blackout LA comes complete with all-black hardware. At the headstock - which is painted to match the bodys finish - black machine heads and two string trees provide a smooth and accurate tuning experience - this allows you to play confidently safe in the knowledge that your guitar has got your back despite any wild bends you might throw at it. At the other end of the guitar easily adjustable bridge saddles offer precise intonation for each string and the fixed bridge is naturally stable. In-built strap buttons mean you can play your LA select for hours without strain and jam in whatever position feels most comfortable for you. Versatile pickups and controls This LA guitar comes equipped with two high output Wilkinson designed humbucker pickups and a three-way selector switch. This combination offers a versatile set of tonal options allowing you to select the bridge or neck pickups in isolation or combine the two in the middle position. The bridge pickup is ideal for chugging rhythm parts whereas the neck pickup offers a piercing tone ideal for ripping solos. The volume and tone knobs allow you to control your tone even more - roll off the volume for sparkling clear tones or turn it up to 10 for full force shredding. 15W Electric Guitar Amp by Gear4music The 15W Electric Guitar Amp by Gear4music is a compact and reliable practice/gigging amplifier with an 6.5" speaker intuitive controls and a great sound. The super-simple layout makes dialling-in tones feel remarkably straightforward and allows ample room for experimentation. The Low Mid and High controls on the amp allow you to dial in your favourite EQ whilst Gain provides a wide range of tonal possibilities from sparkling cleans to crunchy rhythms. Plus by selecting the additional Overdrive channel you can take your tone into a whole other realm perfect for soaring lead lines. The in-built headphone output is another innovative feature which allows players to use the amplifiers technology whilst bypassing the speaker entirely. This is perfect for practicing without disturbing the neighbours simply plug in your headphones and play.
