- Designed with Phi Proportions The DV series of mouthpieces are designed using the Phi proportions to create a perfect high quality sound. The Phi proportion is an equation that is used to find the perfect harmony and is seen mostly in nature and art. JodyJazz has applied this equation in the design of the DV to create a big rich sound and a chamber that increases harmonics. Extraordinary Craftsmanship Using highly sophisticated controlled lathes and mills and finished by hand the DV is a uniquely crafted mouthpiece that looks and sounds premium. With a newly designed facing technology and curve that provides perfection every time and removes the possibility of dead spots in the reeds vibration the DV also features a second window to allow for the sound wave in the mouthpiece to also hit the reed above the bore of the mouthpiece. Beautiful Sound JodyJazzs DV Mouthpieces produce a range of tones for a versatile performance. The mouthpieces deliver a warm sound that projects well and has had enough power to fill up the tone and provide fat notes. With accurate intonations an incredible altissimo response clear articulations and plenty of harmonics the DV series provides easy sub tones and low notes as well as a good response in all ranges making the mouthpiece excellent for singing and soaring above bands. The DV Series The DV mouthpieces use an equation of natures perfection coupled with imagination and science to create a mouthpiece that delivers the highest degree of craftsmanship with an excellent tone. Each model is created using highly sophisticated technology and finished by hand to achieve the perfect radius facing curve and reed/tip match. The DV mouthpiece is coated in a 24kt gold plating to create a piece of art for the saxophone. About JodyJazz JodyJazz was founded by Jody Espina and has gone on to be one of the leading designers and producers of mouthpieces for saxophones and clarinets. Using state of the art design and production techniques with the use of 3D modelling and crafted using CNC multi axis machines they are finished by hand. Once finished each mouthpiece is play tested by Jody Espina or JodyJazz professionals to ensure a perfect seal with the reed as well as a proper response throughout the range of saxophones.
