  • About Karl Perazzo Karl Perazzo was born and raised in San Franciscos Mission District. He has gone on to play with the best in Pop Jazz Rock and Latin music. The self-taught musician is currently playing with the Santana Band who he has recorded 3 albums with one being a live album in South America. Additionally Perazzo has recorded and played with Malo Jorge Santana Cal Tjader Dizzy Gilespie Andy Narrel Ray Obiedo Tom Coster Pete and Coke Escovedo Dennis Chambers Sheila E. The Artist Mariah Carey Paquito D Rivera and is on the latest John Lee Hooker album. In addition to all of the above Karl has also performed on an array of TV shows such as American Bandstand Soul Train Solid Gold Jay Leno Johnny Carson David Letterman The Grammies The American Music Awards and was the first percussionist to be invited to sit in with The Arsenio Hall Show house band on more than one occasion and to perform on his 100th show. About Latin Percussion From the moment he first stepped foot into New Yorks famous Birdland jazz club in 1956 Martin Cohen fell in love with Latin Jazz music. An engineer by trade when he discovered authentic Cuban percussion instruments could not be imported to the USA Cohen began designing and building his own. In 1964 Latin Percussion (LP) was officially born and in the fifty years since has become a household name for professional percussionists seeking the very best quality instruments with a little visual flare to boot. LPs products have featured on many of the most recognisable recordings in the world across a whole span of genres.
