It is a switch pedal that allows you to simply, noiselessly turn the effect section on and off while retaining your original signal. You can connect a guitar, microphone or keyboard for instance, (either mono or stereo) to the input and an amplifier to the output, with one or several effects in between plugged into the Send/Return connectors.
