- This Leica 50mm f2 APO-Summicron-SL Asph lens is all about authenticity, utilising one of the fastest autofocus systems in the pro-level camera industry. As with all Leica cameras and lenses, this lens is characterised by its high-end optical and mechanical construction - as well as its key apochromatic design that consists of high-quality anomalous partial dispersion glass. With 50mm being the closest focusing distance to that perceived by the human eye, this lens is ideal for day-to-day still and moving image capture. It further consists of a bright f/2 maximum aperture, a balanced ergonomic barrel construction, and a portable form factor. In regard to its optical design, this lens consists of three aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions for improved sharpness and clarity. This is backed up by a Dual Syncro Drive stepping motor, delivering a lightning-fast and near-silent autofocus to suit both still and moving imagery applications.
