Product Fundamentals
  • Maple and walnut - a truly dynamic shell blend What happens when you fuse the maple and walnut woods? The Warbird Signature Snare. Maple is a popular choice for drum shells the world over because of its tonal versatility and all-round warmness. Walnut bestows much fiercer properties including fast attack and dark tones. Much harder than maple it ensures pronounced projection for drum shells while bringing out the best of the maples melodic tones. An electrifying fusion that makes this snare drum a force to be reckoned with. SONIClear bearing edges Mapexs unique bearing edge technology ensures better contact between drum head and shell. This increased head-to-shell contact improves shell vibration and allows for greater resonance as well as easier tuning. With a stronger and deeper fundamental pitch these bearing edge profiles allow you to enjoy the sonic nuances of the wood blend. The Warbird is designed for serious drumming warfare. Staggered lug design On the topic of tuning the Warbirds new staggered lug design offers an enormously wide tuning range. This brings out the very best of the Puresound wires ensuring unparalleled sensitivity and delivering the snares dark punchy and explosive sounds as intended. Making a huge impression in any setting is so easy with the Warbird by your side. Stunning etched eagle finish In German the name Adler means eagle hence the eagle graphic on either side of the drum. This graphic is actually etched into the wood grain and like a fine vintage piece of furniture it looks stunning. And as with all of Mapexs SAS finishes the Warbirds Satin Walnut finish brings out the gorgeous character of the wood blend while it also allows the shell to vibrate fully due its extremely low-mass application. About Chris Adler Born in Washington in 1972 Chris Adler is simply one of the most exciting players to ever grace the heavy metal genre. Best known for his stint as Lamb of Gods founder and long-time drummer his fast and furious playing style is underpinned by incredible precision and unorthodox technique making him a real force behind the kit. For example as a left-handed player hes adopted the unusual approach of playing a right-handed kit. He even served as Megadeths drummer between 2015 and 2017 performing on their Grammy-winning album Dystopia.
