Product Fundamentals
- Matches the Frequencies of the Sun Moon and Planets The Meinl Planetary Tuned Gongs have been designed to match the frequencies of the sun moon and planets with each one being tuned to produce the corresponding frequency. Meinl reverts to the calculations of the Swiss mathematician and musicologist Hans Cousto who in 1978 discovered the natural law of the cosmic octave. To get the actual frequencies the calculations are made on the basis of rotation and rotation times of the planets. The tuned gongs have been designed for use in orchestral music as well as therapeutic applications such as yoga sound massage meditation and more. The Planetary Gongs are part of Meinls Sonic Energy collection. Altogether the Sonic Energy instruments are tuned to 16 different frequencies from the Sun Earth Moon Neptune Saturn Platonic Year and the Synodic Day. Handcrafted Masterpiece Countless hours go into making each and every Meinl Planetary Tuned Gong. They are carefully handcrafted by gong makers to ensure they respond with great sensitivity in all playing applications from soft to hard hitting.
