Product Fundamentals
  • The Onkyo M-80 Power Amplifier is built for listeners who want a strong controlled power stage at the centre of a serious hi-fi system. Its three-stage Inverted Darlington Amplifier delivers high current with low output impedance giving your speakers the grip they need during rapid dynamic changes. Low negative feedback helps the amplifier avoid noise from the speaker load and the DIDRC driver stage reduces ultra-high-frequency artefacts to keep digital sources sounding smooth and natural. A custom high-current power supply 10000uF capacitors copper bus bars and Hi-Fi grade terminals all work together to maintain a clean signal path. The aluminium side panels steel top plate and reinforced chassis increase rigidity and limit vibration which supports clearer playback when music becomes dense. With power ratings of 200W into 4 ohms or 150W into 8 ohms the M-80 has plenty of headroom for large floorstanders and dynamic speakers. It becomes an even more capable system when used alongside the P-80 preamplifier giving you a flexible separates setup with full control over your sound.
