The snare has a diameter of 12 inches and a depth of 6 inches, is made of 1 mm thick rolled steel and has a very nice black nickel-plated finish. In terms of sound, this snare delivers quite a bit of projection, a wide dynamic range and a short, percussive sustain. The shell itself features high-quality DW hardware such as True Pitch Tension Rods tensioning screws for very detailed tuning.
