This provides you access to gut string regardless of your bass type. About Pirastro Pirastro was founded in 1798 as "Giorgio Pirazzi and Sons". It all started with Giorgio Pirazzi who learned the craft of string making across Italy and then moved to Offenbach Germany and began his company. Nearly a century later Pirazzis grandson invited his friend Theodore Strobel to join him as a business partner. They combined the beginnings of their names to create Pirastro.
