Product Fundamentals
  • Choose the right string for you The standard string set for these strings includes a steel A-string wound with chrome steel offering superior responsiveness and a smooth and elegant tone. The A-string in this set is ideal if you want a slightly warmer tone than Pirastros Passione steel A-string. There is no sharpness to the timbre of this string and the depth of sound is really impressive this string blends excellently with the rest of the strings on the instrument even different types of strings. The rest of the strings feature the Pirastros special synthetic core and are wound with silver on the D and G strings with the C string being wound with tungsten-silver. There are also variations available as well there is an alternate set where the C string features a steel rope core wound with tungsten a great character if you desire a brighter and slightly more responsive tone from their C string. The second alternate string set is a full steel set. The A-string features the same construction as it is already steel. The remainder of the strings all feature a steel rope core with windings chosen to work well with the strings. This set like the steel A-string offers a very brilliant sound with no metallic harshness. The strings are loud allowing you to unlock the highest soloistic standards of playing. Exclusive new core material For the Evah Pirazzi Evah Pirazzi Gold Obligato and Violino string types Pirastro have developed a new synthetic material for the core. This is exclusive to Pirastro and wont be seen in any other brand of strings. The new material offers an unmatched variety of timbres with rich overtones. It also provides complete resistance to fluctuations in temperature and humidity bringing incredible tuning stability and an impressive dynamic range that can bring out the nuances from pianissimo to fortissimo. About Pirastro Pirastro was founded in 1798 as "Giorgio Pirazzi and Sons". It all started with Giorgio Pirazzi who learned the craft of string making across Italy and then moved to Offenbach Germany and began his company. Nearly a century later Pirazzis grandson invited his friend Theodore Strobel to join him as a business partner. They combined the beginnings of their names together to create Pirastro. Today Pirastro is still run by the Pirazzi family and makes high-quality strings that are used by musicians all over the world and at the very highest standards of performance. Whats at Gear4music?
