Product Fundamentals
-
The Reverend Roundhouse 290 is here presented in Iconic Blue with bound Ebony fretboard. The 290 (2 x P90) pickup layout is among the most popular combinations Reverend
- offers, but this is the first time it features on the Roundhouse platform. What’s more, these aren’t just any P90’s, but the latest Steelhead models, designed from the ground up to offer superior tone while also being hum-free. Add in Reverend’s game-changing bass contour control, and you have what could be the most versatile P90-equipped single-cut guitar out there!

Buy from Merchant City Music for a customer service experience which matches the quality of the guitar! Our dedicated tech sets up every guitar we sell, ensuring you receive a perfectly playing example straight out of the box. We ship fast to the UK, Europe and Worldwide. Get in touch if your country isn’t listed in the checkout for a personalised shipping quote.
Reverend Roundhouse 290 in Iconic Blue
The Reverend Roundhouse is a more recent addition to Reverend’s set neck range, but if you’re a follower of the brand, you’ll know they never rest on their laurels! This latest model has been upgraded in key areas, while leaving the good stuff untouched. That means you get the same Korina body with solid Maple archtop and set 3-piece Korina neck, while the fretboard has been upgraded to more premium Ebony. The controls remain the same, but the pickup selector has been positioned more naturally on the upper bout. So far, so subtle.

Where the latest Roundhouse really moves the game on is in the pickup department. The brand new Steelhead P90 pickups have been designed from the ground up by Reverend design guru, Joe Naylor. These pickups feature oversize steel poles, which boost upper frequency response and headroom, for enhanced harmonics and responsive pick attack. Sidewinder coil construction features two matched coils which cancel the annoying hum common with traditional designs. The coils are turned sideways, allowing both magnets to be focused on a single row of steel poles, yielding the single-coil snap and punch you expect from a P90.

As with all Reverend guitars, the Roundhouse 290 is built with premium components throughout, including those you can’t see. It uses more consistent ±10% tolerance pots and capacitors (rather than the ±20% parts found on most guitars), and a Pure Tone output jack with dual contacts for a firmer connection, better signal transfer, and improved reliability. A treble bleed circuit maintains clarity when rolling back the volume, while the boneite nut minimises friction, helping the strings glide smoothly through the nut slots for enhanced tuning stability.

For single-cut style, powerful P90 sound, and lightweight feel, the Reverend Roundhouse 290 delivers.

Reverend Roundhouse 290 Features

Hum-Cancelling Steelhead P90 pickups

Korina Solidbody with Solid Maple Archtop

Three-Piece Korina neck with Ebony fretboard

Reverend Pin-Lock Tuners

Bass Contour Control

Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Stop Tail
