Product Fundamentals
 •
The Reverend Sensei 290 is here presented in Metallic Bronze with transparent Brown back and bound Ebony fretboard. The Sensei is Reverend’s twin cut, set neck guitar, and it’s received a thorough overhall for this latest model. The Korina body is slightly thinner for reduced weight and increased comfort. Brand new Steelhead P90 pickups have been fitted, too, bringing hum-free tone while still delivering authentic P90 snap and grit.

Buy from Merchant City Music for a customer service experience which matches the quality of the guitar! Our dedicated tech sets up every guitar we sell, ensuring you receive a perfectly playing example straight out of the box. We ship fast to the UK

This latest model has been upgraded with a newly streamlined body for increased comfort, lower weight and tighter low-end punch. The fretboard has also been upgraded to more premium Ebony for increased tonal precision and unmatched feel, while a new headstock logo wears the “Sensei” moniker with pride.

Reverend have also thoroughly overhauled their in-house P90, two of which are fitted to the Sensei 290. The brand new Steelhead P90 pickups have been designed from the ground up by Reverend design guru
 • Joe Naylor. These pickups feature oversize steel poles, which boost upper frequency response and headroom, for enhanced harmonics and responsive pick attack. Sidewinder coil construction features two matched coils which cancel the annoying hum common with traditional designs. The coils are turned sideways, allowing both magnets to be focused on a single row of steel poles, yielding the single-coil snap and punch you expect from a P90. Add in Reverend’s bass contour control, and you have ultimate tonal versatility, with the ability to roll off the bass frequencies to make the P90’s sound much more like traditional single-coils.

As with all Reverend guitars, the Sensei 290 is built with premium components throughout, including those you can’t see. It uses more consistent ±10% tolerance pots and capacitors (rather than the ±20% parts found on most guitars), and a Pure Tone output jack with dual contacts for a firmer connection, better signal transfer, and improved reliability. A treble bleed circuit maintains clarity when rolling back the volume, while the boneite nut minimises friction, helping the strings glide smoothly through the nut slots for enhanced tuning stability.

With upgraded feel, fresh styling, and all-new pickups, the Reverend Sensei 290 sets a new standard for the modern guitar.

Reverend Sensei 290 Features

Steelhead P90 pickups

Korina Solidbody

Three-Piece Korina neck with Ebony fretboard

Reverend Pin-Lock Tuners

Bass Contour Control

Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Stop Tail
