- s forum, who like to experiment to discover new guitar sounds. The result is this just spicier medium output humbucker with fine overtones in the high mids. Simply put, this SH-16 is actually a mix of a coil of SH-1 59 and a coil of the SH-5 Custom with an Alnico 5 Alnico 5 bar magnet. The punchy mids and tight low end make the Seymour Duncan 59 Custom Hybrid an excellent pickup for styles like metal and rock that need just a bit more bite and crunch. This hand-built American SH-16 pickup also has a 4-wire connection cable for multiple wiring options such as parallel switching and coil-splitting. With this splitting, you get the 7k Custom coil-for a more pronounced single-coil sound. Thanks to a vacuum wax potting, this double-coil guitar pickup is also completely free of squeaky microphonic feedback when using extra gain.
