- s own 1959 Les Paul. The Alnico II core, meanwhile tightens up the foundation and helps shape robust, Texas-grade tone, framed by mid-heavy accents and sweet, airy trebles. This throwback pup has been wax-potted to counter less welcome feedback, while the four-conductor wiring also supports coil-split switching.
