Product Fundamentals
  • Seymour Duncan&apos
  • s innovative Hot Rails pickups have been around so long it&apos
  • s easy to forget just how special they are. Before the SHR-1 existed, you were welcome to replace a single-coil pup with a standard humbucker, it just meant having to drill into the body of your beloved guitar to widen the routing and get the thing mounted. Since the Hot Rails humbucker was the first of its kind to come in a single-coil housing, no re-routing was needed, making kitting out your model with a higher output easier than ever before. The SHR-1n edition of the Hot Rails has been voiced for the neck position but can also serve just as beautifully in the middle position and, thanks to the four-conductor wiring, this dual-coil pickup supports coil-split switching, so you can shift back down to single-coil sound at the literal flick of a switch.
