- s Hot Rails pickups are now so well established that one would almost forget how special these elements are. Indeed, before the advent of the SHR-1, humbuckers were also put into an electric guitar with standard single-coils only, but one had to make the hole of the existing element in the body a lot bigger. Because this is a humbucker in a more compact singlecoil-style body, this is now no longer necessary and such a replacement with high-output pickup like this one has become a lot easier. This SHR-1n Hot Rails is specifically designed for the neck position, but is also a great choice as a mid-element replacement. Thanks to the 4-core cable, by the way, it is also possible to make this double-coil element sound like a single-coil-style pickup via coil-splitting.
