Drive and Density The focus of Vintage Drives control lies in the Drive and Density dials. Drive adds gain introducing a unique non-linear saturation to your signal. Ranging from one to eleven there is plenty of scope to dial in just the right level of drive. Density fine-tunes the effect of the circuit
- lower values produce emphasis towards even-order harmonics which helps bring richness to your mix. Medium to higher Density settings result in less overall harmonic content but with odd-order harmonics becoming more prominent as you push the circuit which helps you gain some additional loudness. Ribbon-style saturation meter The saturation meter gives feedback about how much distortion is being added to the signal offering progressive real-time metering you can dial in saturation with precision. Furthermore the meters backlight changes colour as it responds to the level of drive: green at low drive moving up to amber at middle saturation levels and red when you begin to max out. This intuitive metering device makes it an easy process to define your mix with precise levels of saturation.
