- Independent dual channel design based on Friedman BE architecture The BE-DLX contains two all tube channels that replicate the preamp topology of the Friedman BE amplifier. Both channels provide identical control sets which allows users to develop two discrete gain profiles with consistent tonal foundations. This arrangement is suited to players who require a defined separation between rhythm and lead voices. The gain controls maintain the progressive saturation characteristics of the original circuit while retaining clarity through complex passages. With accurate translation of the BE voicing the module provides a stable platform for modern and classic high gain material. BE and HBE switching for expanded gain control Each channel includes a BE or HBE mini toggle which alters the gain behaviour and dynamic response. The BE position offers a balanced overdrive suited to lower gain rhythm or classic rock styles. The HBE position increases saturation which suits contemporary high gain requirements. These switches allow players to assign contrasting roles to each channel such as a mid gain rhythm tone on one channel and a saturated lead voice on the other. The inclusion of per channel switching maintains flexibility while preserving the tonal structure of the Friedman designs. FAT and Gain Structure controls for tonal refinement The module features two PCB mounted switches that support detailed shaping of the low-end and overall gain intensity. The two position FAT switch allows an increase in low frequency response which suits larger cabinets or extended range instruments. The Gain Structure switch reduces gain for a more vintage style presentation which can assist in cleaner chord definition. These refinements allow the BE-DLX to accommodate different playing contexts and expand beyond the range of a single BE or HBE amplifier. Cathode Select system and all tube signal path The Cathode Select function provides three configurations for the input stage. Position 2 the preset for the BE-DLX uses a 2.7K resistor with a .68uf capacitor and reflects a classic British voiced response. Positions 1 and 3 replicate alternative tonal frameworks used across other Synergy modules. This flexibility allows you to adapt the preamp response to changes in gain staging or instrument choice. The signal path is driven by two 12AX7 valves which ensures harmonic consistency and accurate dynamic behaviour. Combined with the modular Synergy environment the BE-DLX provides a technically coherent route to Friedman voiced performance.
