The medium chamber in the NY Bros mouthpiece is the same size as the bore and creates a rich and direct tone. Like other professional mouthpieces the NY Bros 2 is crafted from pure latex hard rubber to ensure the best quality. Hard rubber is preferred by musicians who want a more mellow tone compared to the bright tone produced by a metal mouthpiece. The New York Brothers 2 Design The Theo Wanne New York Brothers 2 Alto Sax Mouthpiece is a professional mouthpiece for saxophonists that require a full sound. The tip found on the NY Bros 2 hard rubber 7 mouthpiece is easier to blow compared to the hard rubber 8 and has a more centred tone with little resistance. This amount of resistance is essential for producing the direct sound required for a vintage tone. The tip holds good intonation but can also produce small inflections in the tone when required. About Theo Wanne Theo Wanne is a modern expert on new and vintage woodwind mouthpiece design. - t be any better. Also the facings of my 2 (alto) pieces are 8 (NYBros) and 9 (KALI Gold) close enough to use the same reed and the shanks are identical so they both fit my cork. Tell Theo that my biggest endorsement of them (as someone that actually makes their living playing) is that in spite of having 2 completely different tones they feel very very very similar. So Monday night pop/contemporary gig I use the Kali then get called Tuesday for a big band gig and I can use the same reed on the NY Bros and be just as comfortable.
