- Hand tube, middle tube and cup tube made from the finest selected spruce
- Cup ring and decorative ring made from solid oak
- Hand knob made from maple
- Cup ring with 250 mm outer diameter
- Consistent 8.5 mm wall thickness
- Wide scale and therefore full, extremely warm and sonorous tone
- Oil finished on the inside
- Wound with wicker and then finished with five layers of matt varnish
- Tuned to 442 Hz orchestra tuning (thereby best adaptation to other alphorns or other instruments when playing together)
- 2 cm ‘extend’ for tuning to 440 Hz
- Very stable intonation and consistent sound - ‘the tones lock in very well’
