- s FetHead Filter microphone preamp has a built-in high-pass filter, which is especially handy if the audio source is positioned too close to the microphone, a scenario knows as the proximity effect. It can also be handy for use with mics that emphasise low frequencies. Usually, the frequencies that can sometimes cause problems are around 220 Hz. A high-pass filter offers the solution by eliminating this frequency range, which results in a cleaner signal. Just like other FetHead preamps, the internal circuit is shielded to protect your microphone.
