Select between +3 dB +6 dB +7.5 dB or +9 dB calibration levels with the Cal control offering both recommended settings and flexibility for tonal adjustments. Authenticity is key and the Input Sync Repro paths and Thru (bypass) options accurately replicate all available circuit options of the original A800. Additional controls like the Equaliser provide options for choosing between American (NAB) and European (CCIR) standardized EQs with regional pre-emphasis/de-emphasis filtering at 7.5 and 15 IPS along with the AES EQ at 30 IPS. The HF Bias calibration parameter enables you to fine-tune the HF oscillation voltage feed to the magnetic record head striking a balance between record sensitivity and distortion. This parameter also offers creative potential allowing you to explore warm overbiased sounds or voltage-starved distortion and chatter effects. Further calibration options include the HF Record calibration filter and the Sync and Repro HF and LF calibration EQs ensuring a flat playback response or providing room for creative experimentation. The Studer A800 features an Auto Cal feature allowing you to easily calibrate the secondary controls to the manufacturers recommended settings.
