Product Fundamentals
  • The Warm Audio WA-44 is based on the ribbon microphone that jazz and rock-and-roll pioneers used to make records, and piles various modern improvements on top of the warm, original sound. Not only are the Neodymium magnets much more powerful than the original alnico units, they also ensure higher output and less noise, while the CineMag output transformer takes care of full-bodied mids and velvety-soft trebles. Optimised for use in combination with modern gear, the transformer can be connected directly to an audio interface, and using long cables is no problem. Ribbon microphones are infamous for their fragile construction, and while the WA-44 is nowhere near as delicately built as the original, it does need to be protected against wind and dust at all times, either with a pop filter or with the included pouch when it isn&apos
  • t being used. To keep the ribbon from sagging, it&apos
  • s best to keep the WA-44 in an upright position while it&apos
  • s tucked up in the included case.
