On the other side of the neck is a rosewood fingerboard which adds complexity to the high end and provides a smooth playing experience. The neck also features an incredibly thin profile improving its playability further to suit both modern and traditional playing styles. Yamaha have finished this bass guitar with a range of industry standard components. A set of lightweight tuners provide a more balance to the guitar than would be found with standard tuners complementing the overall feel to the bass while it open-gear design adds to the Yamaha aesthetics. A 4-bolt plate holds the neck to the body providing extra cut to the overall tone while the urea nut helps improve string stability. The vintage style bridge also adds to the classically inspired visual aesthetic of the BB 234.
