- Traditional barrel and bell shape The classic straight shape of the barrel in the VR series gives a perfectly balanced response whilst the traditional shape of the bell allows for excellent presence and a vintage focused sound. The projection and presence afforded by these design choices make the YCL-CSVRA ideal for use both in ensembles and as a solo instrument due to its excellent dynamic range and massive flexibility in tone. Increased comfort and playability When redesigning the VR series Yamaha made the decision to lengthen the C#/G# key by 2mm improving its touch and playability. Additionally the adjustable thumb rest makes the clarinet suitable for a wider range of hand sizes and an added strap ring allows players to distribute the weight of the instrument and relieve some of the strain of holding it. This is an instrument designed to be played for long sessions without discomfort. Improved stability and expression A rich stable and luxurious tone is created by Yamahas use of thick key plating and durable leather pads. The thicker plating allows the clarinet highly expressive capabilities especially at high volumes. Meanwhile the leather pads deliver a rich tonal quality and their expert set-up gives players a rapid smooth action and a buzz-free playing experience. Ready to go The YCL-CSVR comes with a custom Yamaha ebonite 4CM mouthpiece as well as a silver-plated ligature and mouthpiece cap. A high-quality Yamaha double clarinet case is also included.
