With careful use of more affordable materials Yamaha has succeeded in creating an instrument which sounds incredibly authentic and true to a pro model and available for a fraction of the price. The ABS resin body has been designed to mimic the rich tonal qualities of a Grenadilla instrument and with a sleek matte finish this instrument will look right at home in any ensemble. ABS is also much more durable than traditional tonewoods making the YCL-221II resistant to the inevitable knocks and bangs which come with regular use. Improved stability and expression A rich stable and sonorous tone is created by Yamahas use of thick key plating and durable leather pads. The thicker plating allows the clarinet highly expressive capabilities especially when playing at fortissimo volumes. Meanwhile the leather pads deliver a rich tonal quality and their expert set-up gives players a rapid smooth action and a buzz-free playing experience. Ready to go The YCL-221II comes with a custom Yamaha ebonite 4C mouthpiece as well as a silver-plated ligature and mouthpiece cap. A premium Yamaha bass clarinet case is also included. This professional quality case is durable lightweight and highly portable - making it perfectly suited to the musician on the move.
