- Custom euphonium series Yamahas Custom series of euphoniums represent the absolute finest quality of craftsmanship on offer from the Japanese brass experts. Consultations with leading euphonium players uncovered the importance of the upper registers in the modern euphonium repertoire as well as a desire for more expressive capabilities throughout the dynamic range. These aims were constantly considered throughout the design and testing process eventually resulting in a euphonium with a true focus on expression and playability. New features Design innovations include an overhaul of the main tubing shape and an entirely new leadpipe design giving an immediate faultless response. Ergonomic improvements have been made to the shape and positioning of the hand rest allowing for longer more comfortable playing sessions. The bow guards for the top and bottom bow have also been redesigned stiffening the body to improve definition and clarity whilst adding to the strength and durability to the instrument. Hand-lapped valves and slides ensure a perfect seal improving the valve action as well as the intonation of the instrument. Pressure formed tubing results in a perfectly smooth construction with practically no turbulence. This allows for a perfectly balanced playing resistance and therefore an excellent response throughout the range of the instrument. Main tube trigger system Giving precise control over intonation the YEP-842TS comes equipped with a main-tube trigger system. The lever plate can be pressed during a performance to shift the main tube tuning slide downwards lowering the pitch by an exact amount. The system can be adjusted to change the amount the tuning is changed by as well as the positioning of the trigger - allowing you to optimise the system for maximum comfort and ease of use. A hex wrench is included for adjustment of the system. Included accessories The YEP-842TS comes included with a Yamaha EP-53DL mouthpiece and a euphonium hard-shelled case. This excellent quality mouthpiece offers fantastic precision with a smooth attack great control and a vast crisp tone. The large cup volume and inner rim diameter offer a dark timbre perfect for blending with brass ensembles. The case is designed to keep your instrument safe from knocks and scrapes and will ensure your euphonium looks and plays like new for years to come.
