- - in other words, coated. This sounds strange, until you actually hear the ride. Like all cymbals in the K-series, this ride also features extensive (hand) hammer and groove patterns. In this case, this produces a dark sound with lots of overtones - partly because of this, it can be used in small acoustic settings, but also holds up well in a loudly amplified rock formation. Because the ride quickly transitions to a wash, it is also perfectly crashable.
