GearDeals (geardeals.co.uk) is an independently run music gear price comparison platform based in the United Kingdom. We are not a retailer — we aggregate publicly available pricing data from UK music stores to help consumers find the best deals.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, name (optional), hashed password or Google ID.
- Usage data: pages viewed, search queries, watchlist items, price alert preferences — used to power your account features.
- Analytics: anonymised traffic data via Google Analytics (GA4). No personally identifiable data is sent to Google Analytics.
3. How we use your data
- To operate your account: watchlists, price alerts, and notification emails.
- To send transactional emails (price alerts, account verification). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
- To improve the service via aggregated, anonymised analytics.
4. Third parties
- Google Sign-In: if you use Google OAuth, Google processes your authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Affiliate links: product links may be affiliate links to retailers (Thomann, Gear4Music, etc.). Clicking these may result in us receiving a commission — at no extra cost to you.
- We do not sell your data to any third party.
5. Data retention and deletion
Your account data is retained until you request deletion. To delete your account, email us at privacy@geardeals.co.uk. We will delete your personal data within 30 days.
6. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and Google Analytics cookies for anonymised traffic analysis. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
