Every mixing engineer or recording studio needs needs at least one of these in their arsenal and the demand hasnt let up since its inception. Thanks to Arturias proprietary TAE and Phi technologies FET-76 lets you enjoy the legendary tone of this hardware compressor in plug-in format to use as many times as you want in a session without the restriction of hardware. A must-have compressor Verstaile enough to be used on any source in your mix Arturias FET-76 can both function as relatively transparent dynamics tamer or a crunching colourful sound processor when pushed to the limits. Careful analysis of each individual component and how they react to different sound sources ensures that FET-76 behaves exactly like the real hardware variant. The combination of FET design and Class A amplifier circuit imparts a very pleasant musical character even at low compression levels. A piece of legendary hardware brought into the 21st century Its difficult to imagine the 1176 compressor sounding better and having more flexibility. Well now its not hard to imagine with Arturias FET-76. Recreating the compressor from the ground up allowed Arturia to explore subtle changes and enhancements without altering the legendary tone. Upon opening youll see a familiar interface with all of the original controls with the inclusion of a new Mix knob letting you blend in parallel the dry and wet signals internally. Clicking into Advanced View is where the fun begins. In the Advanced section FET-76 opens up the side-chain control. Here you can select between internal or external sources and features external sidechain gain level to tailor the compressors response to your incoming audio. Theres also a full side-chain EQ featuring high and low-pass filters and band EQ making it ideal to trigger the compression based on the sonic quality of the sidechain signal. Not stopping there theres also a Time Warp dial which alters the pre-delay of your compression envelope to get creative with your side-chaining. When using in stereo mode Arturia have included a stereo detection control to sidechain against only the sides mids linked left and right or dual left and right. Of course a sidechain wouldnt be complete with a listen feature to hear only the sidechain in your signal. Powered by technology Using proprietary modelling algorithms FET-76 can recreate the iconic instruments down to the component parts to create unrivalled realism and immersion. Unmatched in analog emulation FET-76 is powered by TAE and Phi technologies. TAE offers component-level modelling to accurately present the characteristics and behaviour of the instrument whilst Phis state-of-the-art physical modelling brings the acoustic properties into the virtual world for hyper-realism.
