Product Fundamentals
- The C.G. Conn legacy The story of the C.G. Conn trombone starts in 1875 when Colonel Charles Gerard Conn founded his instrument manufacturing company in the small town of Elkhart Indiana. Conn rapidly made a name for himself with his innovative brass designs and within a short amount of time his company was the largest producer of trombones in the United States. Conn trombones are known for their unique tonal colour and stability at fortissimo dynamics - making them among the most widely used professional trombones in the world. Special features The Conn 62HCL comes with a rose brass bell. Rose brass creates a warmer darker sound than the more commonly used yellow brass making it the material of choice for those seeking a more complex tone. An open wrap F/Gb attachment is utilised on the 62HCL. This dual independent loop helps to decrease air resistance by reducing the number of sharp angles in the tubing. The result is much less variation in blowing resistance when the loop is engaged which significantly improves the playability of the instrument. To ensure an incredibly smooth slide action and effortless playability the inner slide tubing is made from chrome-plated nickel silver. This premium material glides freely allowing rapid movement - and also adds brilliance to the timbre. Lindberg valves The open wrap F/Gb attachment features patented CL200 valves designed in collaboration with the famous trombonist Christian Lindberg. This valve is incredibly smooth to engage and removes a lot of the resistance found in traditional axial rotary systems. It activates with the shortest throw of any commercially available rotor system which reduces air build-up during engagement - eliminating the pop which occurs with other rotors. Included accessories The Conn 62HCL bass trombone comes included with a C.G. Conn 1-1/2G mouthpiece and a 7562P wood shell case. The mouthpiece provides a rich deep tone with a quick response and effortless blowing on low pedal notes. Your trombone will be kept safe from bangs and scrapes with the sturdy yet lightweight construction of the 7562P case perfect for the musician on the move.
