- The C.G. Conn legacy The story of the C.G. Conn trombone starts in 1875 when Colonel Charles Gerard Conn founded his instrument manufacturing company in the small town of Elkhart Indiana. Conn rapidly made a name for himself with his innovative brass designs and within a short amount of time his company was the largest producer of trombones in the United States. Conn trombones are known for their unique tonal colour and stability at fortissimo dynamics - making them among the most widely used professional symphonic trombones in the world. Special features This 88H comes with a professional yellow brass bell. Yellow brass creates a bright direct sound with excellent projection and a quick response. This classic orchestral timbre is perfect for use in symphonic and solo performances. A closed-wrap F attachment is utilised in the 88H. This compact loop doesnt extend beyond the confines of the tuning slide making it perfect for use in pit bands where space is more limited. These traditional-wrap attachments are much less prone to knocks and dings making them a great choice for travelling musicians. To ensure an incredibly smooth slide action and effortless playability the inner slide tubing is made from chrome-plated nickel silver. This premium material glides freely allowing rapid movement - and also adds brilliance to the timbre. Included accessories The Conn 88H tenor trombone comes included with a C.G. Conn 5G mouthpiece and a 7552C wood shell case. The mouthpiece provides a crisp clean tone with a quick response and effortless access to the higher registers.
