Product Description
- Sampler The A-112 samples at an 8-bit resolution giving samples a retro sound to them. There are two banks of samples and you can record audio directly into this module. There is memory on board to store samples after you turn the module off. A gate can be used to play the sample and the sample will play as long as the gate is high so you could patch a square wave in with the pulse width being modulated to create variable sample lengths. You can also manually play the sample by pressing the manual trig button. There are also some effects included like delays freeze reverse delay and pitch shifting. Wavetable The second mode of this module is wavetable mode. In this mode the input you wouldve recorded audio into now becomes a control for moving through the wavetable. Wavetables can be loaded to the module by using MIDI dump. This works very much like a lot of other wavetable synths. What makes this interesting is the fact you can use a recorded sample as a wavetable. This makes for a very exciting opportunity for experimentation and some interesting uses. For example recorded speech can be used and individual vowel sounds can be picked out if you use other modules such as LFOs and attenuators. This mode also presents some interesting uses for external control modules like ribbon controllers.
