This is perfect for the double bass as it is often a quiet instrument and needs a lot of volume if a player wants to be heard prominently. Extra strings As well as the standard orchestral and solo strings in the sets. Pirastro also produce strings for bassists with different configurations on their instrument. If your bass has a low C extension fitted then the 2.1m E string is the string for you.
