- The Red Panda Bitmap V2 bit-crusher uses sample-rate modulation, so after chomping up the signal and spitting out a bit-rate of 24 or lower, a unique algorithm coats it in sweet warmth. Sure, the Red Panda can break sound down into 12-bits or classic arcade-game style 8-bits, but it manages to do it in a much richer, more three-dimensional style. The extensive control panel provides a small army of pots and switches for defining and refining the resulting sound, while the analogue circuitry has been backed up by a buffered bypass, and an expression pedal can even be hooked up for dramatic real-time tweaking. Just like the original Bitmap, the V2 can handle guitar, bass, synthesizers, and drum machines.
