- The Rupert Neve Portico 542 is a 500-series module that allows you to give any signal a wonderful vintage feel. From subtle tape recorder emulation, to warm tape distortion. It includes two emulation circuits that emulate 15 and 30 IPS tape speeds, respectively. The lower speed offers a warm sound with fewer high frequencies, while the higher speed is slightly flatter. - switch offers two additional options for extra texture thanks to transformers. The Silk and Tape sections each have their own dial to control the depth of the effect. Too much distortion can have the side effect of losing detail. To counteract this, you can use the blend knob to mix the original signal with the effect.
