- This Sela Percussion 20-inch Chau Gong Dark Moon is a carefully hand-made gong in China, made entirely from a special bronze alloy. These so-called "Chau"" gongs have a distinctive design where the rim runs backwards. The surface of the gong is left completely rough, giving the sound a huge amount of texture and depth, which could be described as a natural, earthy tone. And besides, this rough, hand-hammered finish naturally looks very nice too. This gong can be used in a variety of settings, including, for example, in orchestral applications, for sound or music therapy or, for example, sound-baths. Due to the naturally large size of gongs, the sounds are space-filling and the vibrations can be felt in the body for meditative and spiritual effects."
