- This Sela Percussion 20-inch Chau Gong Dark Moon is a carefully hand-made gong in China, made entirely from a special bronze alloy. These so-called "Chau"" gongs have a distinctive design where the rim runs backwards. The surface of the gong is left completely rough, giving the sound a huge amount of texture and depth, which could be described as a natural, earthy tone. And besides, this rough, hand-hammered finish naturally looks very nice too.
