Their crisp tone smoothly rounded attack and noise reduction are all qualities that make them ideal for any recording situation. Yamahas Air Seal System shells feature select birch wood cut in plies positioned with staggered diagonal seams and sealed together with evenly distributed air pressure. This process ensures that every drum shell is in round and of uniform thickness while providing superior tone quality and durability. Hi-Tension Lugs With a springless design for noise-free control the Yamaha Recording Custom 4pc Shell Pack uses hi-tension lugs for consistent and accurate tuning throughout your recording sessions. The polished chrome lugs are manufactured as genuine one-piece units offering increased strength and durability to the birch shells whilst complementing the look of the kit as a whole. Y.E.S.S Tom Mounts The Y.E.S.S tom mounts are Yamahas innovative enhanced sustain subsystem which minimises interference between the tom mounts and the drum shells natural response or rumble. Employed to deliver advanced sustain and untainted tonal clarity the Y.E.S.S system features a number of supported points (rubber spacers) dependant on the size of the drum which are evenly spaced to modulate the rumbling caused by the weight of the drum. This results in clear response and well-balanced rumble from one drum to the next.
